Flexography is the most popular process used to print packaging labels (product labels).
The food and packaging industry primarily uses flexographic printed labels because they are cost effective to print and apply, and are attractive to the consumer.
Flexographic printing produces high quality impressions with images at 133, 150 or 170 line screen.
Process:
Flexographic presses use relief (raised images) made of photopolymer plates to transfer ink to the substrate.
The plates are flexible and attach to a roller or cylinder for ink application.
Only the raised images on the plate come in contact with the substrate during printing.
The substrate is fed into the press from a roll; it is then pulled through a number of print units (stations).
Each unit prints a color.
Label Haus uses presses with up to 6 colors. These presses use fast drying, low viscosity solvent, water based, and UV curable inks.
